Community? Engagements? Arts? Well, for starters this is a class taught at Transylvania University in Lexington, KY by professors Kremena Todorova and Kurt Gohde. The goal of this class is to form a relationship with the community by engaging in artistic projects with the community. The outcome of this will manifest itself in many ways, some recognizable and others not so much.

ReplyDeleteEverything about community engagement is personal. It’s the work of a lifetime to build a community in which people love and care for each other. Think long term.
Started with TBC through a friend of hers. Needed a place to direct energy, sorrow, rage.
The goal of OTT is a tool for getting people who would otherwise never talk to each other to do so and find common ground. It is meant to strengthen the community. What happens to our neighbor is going to happen to us.
Always consider: who’s voice is missing? Who isn’t being represented?
